Because most drywall repairs are quoted on an hourly basis, you can save
money by
doing a few simple but time consuming tasks yourself. There are three things a
homeowner
can do to save money on the cost of a drywall repair.
1.) Remove furniture, pictures, etc. away from the area that will
need to be repaired.
2.) If you know the existing paint color pick it up prior to my
service call. If you don't
know the paint color follow this link to the paint
matching tips page. This is the biggest
savings as sometimes getting the paint matched can exceed the actual cost of the
repair.
Give yourself a few days as most paint stores don't do same day color matches.
3.) I always try and leave a jobsite cleaner than when I
arrived. But if you want to keeps
costs down you can do the cleanup yourself. Depending on the number of
repairs
this could shave up to an hour off your bill.
