I am a second generation painter & wallpaper hanger. My father
is a licensed California Painting
Contractor and is the one responsible
for getting me started in the trade at an early age. My
experience
includes all aspects of wall covering installation and removal including
floating the texture
(smoothing). For a period of about 2 years I even
created my own line of hand painted wall coverings
that was marketed by
the largest distributor in the world at the time Enterprise Wall coverings.
I moved
to the beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho area in
the early 90's and became a Painting Contractor. During my
time in
Idaho I became one of the valleys largest painting contractors with a
range of work that included;
new spec homes (800 sq ft - 3200 sq ft), large custom homes (3200 sq ft - 10,000 sq
ft), as well as interior
and exterior repaints. I applieda variety of different finishes including; newly developed cold weather
paints,
sprayable and brushable lacquers, stain blocking primers,
interior and exterior latex and oil based paints,
conditioning of a
variety of woods, interior and exterior staining, deck refinishing,
texture repair, wallpaper
installation and removal, as well as the
application of UVA finishes to protect the exteriors of the log home
that are very popular in the
region.
I moved back to California in the later part of the 90's to be closer to
my family and worked with my
father on larger custom homes in the Marin
County Area. My father has decided to focus his business
toward
applying specialty finishes such as faux marble, wood graining, rag rolls, and sponge
painting.
Because my interest lies in the application of
commercial coatings rather than specialty finishes I decided to
branch out on my
own. I have had my California Contractors license now for about 3 years and am
currently accepting new work.
